A Little About Me:
I've just turned 50 this week. My kids have left home. I live in the middle of nowhere and I don't like to drive.... Duh! I like handicrafts and readings and I watch far too much telly. In short, I am bored and don't know what to do with myself. I used to have a decent job but because I live in a very remote area there are no jobs to be had. So I am looking to the internet to try to find some friends.

I'd just like to hear other women's points of view on stuff. I'm sure we all have health/relationship/job issues we'd like to discuss with someone other than those closest to us.

Kids? Husbands Can Be Just As Bad!!!

I once went into a Wimpy Bar with my first husband. We sat down, picked up the menu, decided what we wanted (Wimpy Hamburgers) and waited for the waitress to take our order. We were ignored. We waited. Other people came in after us and got served. We were becoming annoyed, then very annoyed, then my husband obviously became furious. A group of waitresses were standing in the middle of the restaurant having a chat. He stormed up to them and at the top of his voice yelled - Excuse me, if it's not… Continue

Old Age

I was sent this "poem" today and thought it was so great I wanted to share it with you all. Old Age, I decided, is a gift. I am now, probably for the first time in my life, the person I have always wanted to be. Oh, not my body! I sometime despair over my body, the wrinkles, the baggy eyes, and the sagging butt. And often I am taken aback by that old person that lives in my mirror (who looks like my mother!), but I don't agonize over those things for long. I would never trade my amazing f… Continue

Yeah this is a really sweet group, so nice to get an international flavor going here! It sounds like a lot of the ladies in the group are extremely busy. I just can't wait to get out into the garden. The weather here got really cold and keeps hailing on and off for the past week but I think the sun is coming out!

Hi Sheila
What about setting up your own internet business? Can you draw on your skills from your previous job? It can be very rewarding and I'd be glad to help with moral support etc.

OK I've added a couple of pictures so you cn all see my views. One shows the back view of my house (just so you can see what I'm looking at!). The building just showing on the right is my husband's office.

The other photo is showing the view from my conservatory.

We have just put in for planning permission to extend the house because as you can see it's tiny.
