Dog Snacks on Lingerie!!!
A US Veterinary Pet Insurance company has started keeping track of some of the unusual claims made throughout the year, and then picking a monthly winner, to whom the Hambone Award for the most obscure claim (voted on by the public) is awarded.The August nominee for the Award is Crawford, a 2-year- old Brittany spaniel who was rushed to the vet after eating the gel inserts from his owner's bra!!!
Good news though, there was no blockage, and after the dog went on a special diet the problem passed!
Bra Theif at Large!
Police have been hunting a bra thief who made off with 160 bras worth nearly £3,500 from the Victoria's Secret Lingerie shop in Bonita springs, florida – the latest in a string of bra heist's in the area.Authorities claim there have been at least six other bra burglaries since February this year, of which Victoria's Secret had 452 bras stolen from two other south-west Florida stores, which roughly amounts to almost £11,500 worth of bras!!!
Its is reported that the bra theft occurred when a female customer, made a beeline for a drawer containing PINK brand bras, and when she saw that employees were busy helping other customers, she quickly dumped 160 of the bras into a bag, and made a quick exit from the lingerie store!
Hmmm and with the state of the economy right now, they are most probably for sale or have been sold on Ebay!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
What is it?Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) was introduced as a worldwide campaign in 1993 by Evelyn Lauder to:
- increase awareness of breast cancer
- raise funds for research into the disease
- support people affected by the disease.

- Putting many pink products on sale to raise money for the charity, including long-standing partners ASDA and Boots and other high-profile brands such as QVC, Dorothy Perkins, Swarovski and Interflora

You have a text box at the top of the page that you can use to describe your business, add photo’s of your products with links back to the products on your website and you can use it to introduce yourself and maybe a little bit about why you started your business.
Also, if you belong to any affiliate schemes – you can put the code here too. Make money from your profile page!
You have potentially 180+ customers on just this website alone and they all have friends/contacts and that is without the huge potential of passing traffic. Treat your profile like a mini website – word of mouth is one of the best endorsements any site can get.
In addition to this, you also have the facility to blog about what you do and you can also include links within this to specific products.
If you have a blog elsewhere then copy and paste it over to Web Mums. The more blogs you have around the internet – the better rankings you will get with the search engines.
There are new members joining every day, maybe someone will join tomorrow that could open amazing doors for your business – so don’t add a few links and never come back CHECK WEB MUMS REGULARLY. It is to your advantage to use this site as much as possible – that is what networking is all about.
Also the information that is being added all the time may just be the info you need to accomplish a goal within your business/life.
In addition to all of this, you also have the chance to hook up to an RSS Feed. This is particularly useful if your site has an RSS feed to your products – like eBay.
Yes! You can display the products you are currently selling on eBay via your profile page (if you don’t know how to do this then ask me). Then why not put a post in the Buy and Sell forum to highlight what you currently have on offer so that people will check out your profile page.
The possibilities are really endless and this is the tip of the iceberg to what you can really achieve! Web Mums isn’t just a directory – it’s a network of women pooling resources to help each other.
Finally, if you are really serious about wanting to advertise your business then why not take out an advertisement on the main page so that you get optimum exposure.
The prices are incredibly reasonable for members and can be discounted for 3 – 6 month terms. To view our current advertising fees click on 'advertising fees' in the navigation menu on the home page.
Also, add your name to the Business Directory List Post in the business forum - if you don't put your name down - you won't be included – please specify whether you wish to be on the front page directory which is only £3.50 per three months – less than £1 a month!!!
Or whether you wish to be in the free one which will be within the site. You will automatically appear on both if you have a paid subscription. All payments would be preferred by PayPal – but you don’t need to have a PayPal account to do this.
