Just a short note to let you know that my aromatherapist Helen Hammond has come up with a fantastic recipe for a face gel that works for skin prone to outbreaks - and that is valid for all ages. You may know that I suffered from acne for a long time and I tried all sorts of things from the pill to harsh chemicals a…

Okay. So
Nikki tagged me. An explanation and rules for how tagging works can be found at the end of this post.
And now I have got time to list "my" 25 things as my other half has gone out with his friends :-).
So here goes:
1.I was born in Stuttgart, Germany 50 years ago. A true Swabian..
2.When I was 4 years old I hit my head on a concrete bollard which caused the skull to crack in that area - near the temple - and my…

A word of warning to everyone who wants to run their blog via the Wordpress hosted software: you are not allowed to have more than 20 links back to your own website. 20 Links! That is - laughable...I have just been told by them to reduce my links back to my website as otherwise they won't allow me to run my blog any longer. That means if you want to use your blog to drive business to your own website you will have to download the Wordpress software and run it on a server outside of the Wordpress…

My border collie Judy is 13 years old now and she has gone completely lame on her hind legs just about 5 weeks ago. The picture (excuse the shaken quality - she was moving her head around every time I pressed the shutter) shows her when she was still able to get around in her wheel chair..…

We exchanged contracts for our house in Somerset today. It took some time and effort, but we got there and we managed to get a good price considering the current market situation.
But - what constitutes a good price? A big increase since you bought your property, a small percentage or just a break-even? In our case it was a tiny increase that helped us break even (after deduction of solicitor's fees, moving costs, stamp duty etc.).
How did we do it? First of all - forget your greed. Greed star…

There is quite a bit of doom and gloom going on at the moment. Bankruptcies, takeovers, redundancies, mortgage rate increases... you name it, the media reports about it. Then there are the knife crimes, boozers roaming the streets at night, divorce rates going up, the gap between poor and rich widening... enough to make one despair.
If you have just started out in business or are into your second year of trading and things aren't going quite to plan then the above isn't exactly encouraging. But…

I

I am currently conducting some research into solid perfumes and as most of my products contain ingredients that are either grown in or come from Africa I naturally was thinking: musk. NO, no, and no!
Did you know that civets, the main "suppliers" of musk, are kept under absolutely horrendous conditions in very small cages were they can't move or defend themselves from army ants that tend to…

I have been going on about Jamie Lovell, my web designer, on here before but I just have to tell you - he's fab! He's just freshened up my website and I am so thrilled with it that I needed to share the news with you. If you have an EKM shop and need a web site design that delivers the goods then head over to the EKM Forum and contact Jamie for a quote. It's not terribly cheap but I found it's money well spent. My sales have sky rocketed since I started using Jamie's web design services and I ex…

I have a passion for snow leopards. I am a dog person but my first love was cats. My mum owned a beautiful Karthauser cat which was adored by everybody - he got away with all sorts of mischievous behaviour and made me laugh a lot. He was almost human, turning his back on you if he was…

Thanks for the latest news about adding high quality links to one's website, Nikki. You are right - I had no idea my page on Web Mums ranked that high in Google and I'll sure go and add a back link to ALL my hub pages, forum chats and blog chats back to here from now on! I think for simply doing basically very little this is a great result and possibly why I am getting so many unexpected orders these days (I was wondering why I was so busy during August and that despite the credit crunch…
