I am married with 2 boys age 11 & 9 living in rural location. We also have a cat, 21 chickens and 8 chicks! I already started setting up my own business while still employed part time, but since January 2009 I have only been working for myself. It's going well and I am enjoying working for myself from my own home in the spare bedroom - wish I'd done it years ago! I hope I can help or chat with other mums starting or running their own business and will offer any moral support and advice that I can. Please feel free to contact me I would love to hear from you.

Hi Jenny,

Thanks for your message, glad you like the website (It is still a work in progress but aren't they all!?)

I am near the Essex Suffolk border, near Maldon to be precise, lovely part of the world and also quite rural.

Thanks for the welcome, I am looking forward to joining in with this site a bit more. Had a peek at your website, you have a very interesting job.

I have been running the VA business since April 08 - I have found my skills for web design and SEO to be more in demand than my secretairal skills - which is worrying!!

Thanks for getting in touch, speak soon.

Hi Jenny,

Thanks for your message, sorry for the delay in replying. Yes I can understand cramming. Just taken on a part time job to keep finances alive. Business is positive but there is a lot of work to be done in order for me to draw a wage and with 2 small kids to look after there's only so much one can do.
anyway enjoy your course and good luck with your business too.

keep in touch

Hello, you sound very clever! I won't be buying undies from a certain retailer. If you want to blog, just start writing about your day and it all happens from there on in, good luck!

Hi Jenny,

That sounds like a great idea to cut down on those very expensive overheads. My partner is a builder and understands all about those kind of jobs too.
He is working on a job at the moment where the plans he is working from have been done by someone who is so incompetent that he has had to redesign some of it to be safe and within regulations unfortunately that means the the artictect made the building seem bigger than it could be - it made the customer happy but not him and he has had to tell them that regs won't allow it. anyway I keep out of the politics to be honest. but it can be a headache sometimes.

Monday in Sheffield if you ever have time I live near the centre and we could meet for a cuppa.

I have lived all over the place, born in N ireland, gainsbro', lincoln, grimsby, nottingham, manchester, london and a spell in bangkok. I am very settled in sheffield now, like you say its a freindly place.

best wishes

Nina

Thanks for updating me: great news about the coverage in the magazine. If you want to write about how you're getting on with the book I'll include it in my newsletter/blog: people are always interested to hear about how other people are doing their own PR.
