I wanted to bring your attention to something that I really feel is getting overlooked, yet it is a simple and powerful way for you to get a really high quality link to your website that is completely free.....and it’s right under your nose!
I am talking about your profile page here on Web Mums and I'd like to take Sabines Page as an example; Sabines profile page is a PageRank 2 this means that Google considers the page important. 99% of profile pages on Web Mums are ranked PageRank 0, mine included.
I've had a look at the statistics to see where all of the links to Web Mums are coming in from so I have a full list of what sites are linking to Web Mums (primarily the home page). With this information I can see what the sites are and what page they are linking to. Now, as this is my site, I generally leave links to the home page and many thanks to those of you who've been kind enough to include Web Mums on your links pages or recommended pages, it's most appreciated but what really stood out on this report was 23 backlinks pointing to Sabines profile page.
Over a short period of time and just by chatting in forums, leaving links to her profile page in blog posts and blog comments etc She has created a profile page that Google has super-juiced up to a PR2.
YOU MUST TREAT YOUR PROFILE PAGE AS A MINI WEBSITE ON ITS OWN
So use your profile page as the middle man to create a super-juiced link to your website. If you chat in forums then add your profile page to your signature, you can still have your main website as a link but utilise the extra mini website (your profile page) that you have.
Sabine has done this naturally and I'm not sure she even realises what she has achieved - can you imagine what would happen if she actively tried to get links to her profile page?
If you super-juice your profile by sending lots of links to it they will all add up to creating one excellent link that you can then point to your website. I hope this makes sense to you all - it's powerful information and I would urge you to act on it. One more quality link on your website can make the difference from you being on page 5 of Google to pushing up to page 1.
Best of Luck,
Nikki
