Web Mums WAHM Network

Hi to all who know me and have missed me (must be at least one of you that has!!?!?!?!?) ANyway, hope all you lovely ladies are well and your families also.
I haven't been on in ages and thought its time to get myself back on here!!

I am throughly enjoying my job at the Police as call handler/despatch - I have been there (solo) since July 21st, and absolutly love it! Never thought I'd hear myself say I love my job, but I do! bout time!
I've had my fair share of bizare/funny/weird/nasty calls and every day is different.
I had a call from a 75 yr old man the other night, poor guy had been tied up,robbed, and attacked in his own home - he had managed to cut himself free from the ropes with his car keys and escape to ring the police!!! Unbelievable the cowards out there that pray on elderly people like this - a male has been caught and arrested, so fingers crossed its right guy and he gets sent down, as its a robbery its likely he will.

I had to deal with a domestic yesterday (most of calls are domestics) but they can be very nasty - this one was a hysterical woman who's brother had attacked her AND her newborn son!!!! I had to really fight back the tears whilst on the call, as the baby wasn;t making any noise - I had to try calm this woman down to get details, luckily, at end of call I hear a very healthy scream from baby, and ambulance checked him out and all was well - So as you can imagine its hard, very hard at times.
We also had a murder yesterday, some bloke found dead in his house, axe in head, been there 4 days apparently - only when someone rang in concerned as they hadn't seen him for days did police go to his home and found him.

Martin doing well, still enjoying his role as PCSO, doing lots of overtime, as usual, but needs must and all that, we still skint!.

Cassie now 2, going on 20!!!! such a pleasant yet etremely energetic little Miss!!! Loving nursery, come on so much, can hold conversations with her now! funny.

Martins Parents and sister have STILL not made any contact with us, not been to see Cassie or rang asking for her etc - Since April now - SO those of you who know the story there can see its not improved at all, and they still not apologised. Martin and I have washed our hands of them, really feel for Martin, but he really doesn;t want to know anymore, they have hurt him behaving this way and taking out on Cassie and me.

Got a new laptop, so no more been stuck away upstairs on computer!!! We moved Cassie into front double bedroom after decorating it for her the other week, such a gorgeous, bigger girly room now, she loves it, (she still in her cot, for now!!!) We keep trying on potty training, she knows exactly what it for, but still not happening!!!! I'm getting bit worried or maybe just me, overly worried! about it - SO any Help appreciated!!!!!

xxxx

Hi Jen, Bet he loves seeing there faces when he produces his warrant card!!!! I know a lot of coppers who really don't look old enough to shave!!! but some of them are better at the job than these burly cocky ones I can tell you!!
THanks for comments on the photos. I am 6ft, but always at least 6ft 2-5 as I hardly wear flats (apart from work!!!).
I've actually been invited to atend a PCSO recruitment day in couple weeks, they have advertised internally in Police for interest, so I put my interest forward and they contacted me - and they advise me that there will be good chance of part time hours as a PCSO, so I am thinking about it quite a lot. My ideal job is as mounted police, but I don't think I can do the 2 years on normal beat Full time - and thats the requirement - If it was a 1yr then I'd do it. Always wanted to do that.
And of course I have passed all requirements and interviews to become special constable, so one way or another I'll be in uniform!!! lol...Just have to decide which one to go ahead with???
Had very busy shift last night - had a call from a "Jumper" on the Humber Bridge" - hanging off the wrong side of barriers over the water! Not uncommon I tell you! - SOmetimes you feel like saying "If your gonna do it bloody jump"!!! cos half of them do it for the attention and have no intention of jumping!!

Gosh, that wasn't the first time that you've had a jumper off that bridge is it! We had something quite horrid in the South the other week, apparently someone jumped off Beachy Head and whilst the lifeguards and crew were dealing with it all, another car drove off the edge which was unrelated to the 1st incident!

Great to have you back Sam. What a job! I couldn't do it. Would really get to me.. I admire you and also the fact that you keep your head screwed on and react calmly in these situations. Sorry to hear about Martin's lot. Right miserable bunch they seem to be! Always surprises me how family can behave like that. Taking it out on a little girl above all - it's beyond me...Adults can handle things but children.....Anyway, keep your head held high and all will be good ;-))
